- East Coast Tour

The dynamic New York/San Francisco-based chamber ensemble REDSHIFT (Jeff Anderle, Clarinet/Bass Clarinet; Andie Springer, Violin; Emily Popham, Violin; Rose Bellini, Cello; Isabelle O’Connell, Piano) plays Philip Glass along with new music by four young composers from Baltimore: Jenny Beck, Ruby Fulton, Ying-Chen Kao, and David Witmer. REDSHIFT brings high energy and focus to this performance which features three premiere pieces written especially for this ensemble.

The three premieres include Beck's new work for solo cello, Fulton's The Joker Quartet, and Kao's Surreal Perception. These three pieces were written to showcase the powerful virtuosity and musical intimacy of the REDSHIFT ensemble. Miniatures for piano trio by Witmer will also be included in the program along with Music in Similar Motion by Philip Glass.
