Jenny Beck, born August 23, 1985

 

Jenny Beck grew up in Indiana, Pennsylvania. She recently finished her undergraduate degree at the Peabody Conservatory where she studied composition with Michael Hersch, and computer music with Greg Boyle. Other mentors include Robert Sirota, Tom Benjamin, Steve Mackey, Libby Larson, Chen Yi, Allain Gaussin, Andre Bon, and Ladislav Kubik. She has attended the American Conservatory in Fontainebleau, France, and the Czech-American Music Institute in Prague. Ms. Beck is a recipient of two Peabody Career Development Grants, a Mu Phi Epsilon Summer Scholarship, and was awarded 2nd Prize in the 2008 Prix D'Ete Composition Competition for Meditation on Torment and Triumph.
